A world demanding meaning alternates between cynicism and starry eyes.
See, all a detail must do
is matter to be written down.
And all a detail must do to mean
is to occur,
for every movement created, in the art that is our lives, expresses,
whether or not what the cynics command-
The proud, demanding meaning, demand the meaning that they desire,
threatened by your meaning, a force unto its own.
Hold your hopes close, and your disappointments closer.
All it takes to matter is to happen to you.
