Oh, formless Father,
what is it like to receive
the kisses I give?
Do they float to the right, towards the Son?
Oh, kisses cannot soar!
Even breath can barely blow.
Does the Spirit meet my lips?
What is touch-less collision like?
Strangers destined locking eyes?
Reason and feelings in a fight?
Words stopping feet dead in their tracks?
…Brain, tongues, irises!
What is it like to be mere Spirit?
All these body parts! I cannot know.
Formless Father,
what is it like to receive
the kisses I give?
Is it like iced tea,
warming my tongue with its savory,
cooling the back of the top of my throat
as though life were worth living?
Is it like a sister and her love
that wants you in the next one,
as though life were worth
living well?
Are these your kisses
to me?
Of course not!
Are they?
Giver of every good thing,
You’ve dropped me in a wonder worth
Dancing!
But in the still, back in my bed,
like a weaned child with its mother, content
I love, have loved, will love
you, give you kisses.
Beautiful poem! I would like to inform you that there is a typo in the second line of your poem: “what is is like to receive”. The second “is” should be “it”.
I would like to reciprocate with a poem of mine. Since it is April, let’s start with http://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/soundeagle-in-april-love-and-dove-art-and-heart-game-and-puzzle-music-and-video/, where there are songs that will be familiar and nostalgic to you.

Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for letting me know about the typo!
I liked how the words on your heart post were over a visual backdrop. Looks like you put a ton of work into your site!
